  • The Role of Scholars in the Protection of the Third Republic

Kismayo University organized a public lecture delivered by Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, former President of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

The lecture was titled “The Role of Scholars in the Protection of the Third Republic.”

In his address, Sheikh Sharif highlighted the critical responsibility of intellectuals in preserving statehood, strengthening democratic institutions, and guiding the nation through periods of political transition. He emphasized the importance of knowledge, integrity, and civic responsibility in ensuring the stability and continuity of the republic.

The event was attended by a wide range of participants, including leaders from both the federal government and federal member states, as well as members of the public. The strong attendance reflected the importance of the topic and the public’s interest in national dialogue on governance and the future of Somalia.

Kismayo University continues to serve as a platform for meaningful intellectual engagement, bringing together national leaders, scholars, and citizens to discuss key issues shaping the country’s future.
