Kismayo University, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Interior, organized an important program focused on developing the National Peace Education Curriculum (NPEC). The event brought together a wide range of community representatives, including religious leaders, traditional elders, universities, schools, women, and youth.
The main objective of the program was to strengthen the understanding and value of peacebuilding while contributing to the creation of a unified national curriculum that teaches students the importance of peace, coexistence, and conflict resolution.

- Opening Remarks: Officials and experts in education and peacebuilding discussed the urgent need for a unified national curriculum built through consultation, research, and collective input.
- Presentations: Various presenters shared fresh perspectives on how to design a practical and inclusive peace education curriculum suitable for all levels of learning, emphasizing ethics, coexistence, and community cooperation.
- Discussions and Recommendations: Participants engaged in meaningful dialogue and provided valuable recommendations to ensure the new curriculum reflects Somali culture, religious values, and societal realities.
